REACHSpace
REACHSpace is a web-based application to solve problems of communication, coordination and collaboration introduced by new EU chemical industry legislation (REACH) aimed at improving human health and the environment and reducing animal testing. REACH mandates collaboration between chemical industry supply chain members to centrally register each of the 30,000+ chemical substances manufactured or imported into the EU. This is difficult, costly and time-consuming because of the barriers that exist between organisations due to differences in technology; process; culture; management style; attitude to risk etc. and because of the need for intense security. REACHSpace enables consortia of companies to build secure, collaborative environments in which to share resources and coordinate activities towards the completion of mutual goals. It provides a high degree of secure integration, ensuring the autonomy of individual participants, while maintaining very rapid setup, low overall cost of ownership and an end-to-end solution to REACH.
