FScan Ltd

FScan Ltd  seeks to revolutionise the imaging marketplace. Its interest is primarily based on responsive probes using novel ratiometric analytical methods in a fast, efficient and user-friendly manner.

Several diseases have recently been associated with the elevation or depletion of bioactive anions, such as citrate (prostate adenocarcinoma), urate (gout, multiple sclerosis) and lactate (malignancy). The current analytical methods used to measure these species are often based on enzymatic recognition, which is both time and material consuming, and rather complex in nature. FScan Ltd dedicates its research to simplify and speed up these analytical methods and imaging technologies by creating novel ratiometric methodology based on lanthanide chemistry, with the aim to create a step change in current analytical methods for diagnosis.

Its sensor compounds are designed to be selective for the target analyte, providing a simple, single component, rapid and non-enzymatic luminescent method of analysis, using equipment commonly found in high throughput screening laboratories.
